OCN Level 3 Peer Support Worker Training
This course is accredited by OCN NI and all participants who complete the program and assessment will receive a Level 3 Peer Support Worker qualification
Dates: Tuesday 18th May – Tuesday 20th July
Times: 6.30pm – 9pm
Format: To be decided – Zoom, face-to-face or a blend, restrictions permitting
Our signature training program allows people who have lived experience of perinatal mental illness to use their experiences to help and support others.
Our intensive 10-week program covers recovery language, peer support modeling, communication skills, safeguarding, and more.
All students who complete the assessment will be supported by The Parent Rooms to set up support groups in their own communities or to deliver one-to-one peer support.
We are hoping to deliver all of this course face to face, however, with the uncertainty around COVID-19, there may be occasions when we need to move the class online. In this instance, we will use Zoom to facilitate classes.
Following the successful completion of the course, you will be given full support to set up your own The Parent Rooms peer support group including booking of venues, advertising of the group, and a listening ear should you encounter problems while running the group. For the first year, this support is free. For each year following we ask for a voluntary contribution of £30 per year to assist us to cover the costs.
You must be able to attend the full course in order to become accredited. Please do not take space if you can’t attend every class.

All fees are payable in full before the course begins and are non-refundable. Once we receive your application form, we will issue an invoice with a link to pay.
